The concept of the Carvers Snowboard Binding is simple. The rider should have a sense of freedom and security.

Thefreedom is derived from the riders ability to quickly rotate his or her foot from the standard riding position to a natural skating position. This allows the rider mobility freedom to navigate the flat spots at the bottom of the mountain.

The security comes from being kinematically coupled to the snowboard. This prevents the rider from experiencing a "loose fit" while attached to the board.
