a Manufacturing Engineer in the area of Vehicle Operations Final Assembly
Engineering at the Ford Motor Company. My current assignment is on
the 2007 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator launch team. |

My Ph.D. research
was in the area of mechanical engineering design and manufacturing.
I developed a system for design engineers to use to forecast and
manage final product variation early during the design process.

| I designed and
tested components for the Delphi Automotive Delphi Brake Control 7
(DBC7) hydraulic modulator. The DBC7 hydraulic modulator is used in
automotive applications to serve as a component of an Anti-lock Brake
System (ABS) and/or Traction Control System (TCS). |

Responsibilities
of mine included redesigning components to maximize the lifetime
and minimize the cost of the Delphi Automotive Systems Anti-lock
Brake System 6 (ABS6) hydraulic modulator. The ABS6 system was
manufactured for millions of vehicles in the mid to late 1990s.

| The Delphi
Automotive Systems Rear Electric Brake (REB) was used for the rear
brakes on the General Motors EV1, the first full-production, modern
electric vehicle.
Developing and
performing procedures to test the seal integrity of the REB motor
housing to water entry were some of my major accomplishments on
the project.
I also performed
noise tests and suggested gear redesign to minimize the gear noise
generated by the REB. |

The
team I worked with generated the concept, designed the components,
and built the prototype of the Constrictor Bike Security System.
The Constrictor is a unique design because it is easier to
use than a cable lock, is as secure as a U-lock, is easier to store
than a U-lock, and is modular in design. |

| The Carvers
Snowboard Binding is a revolutionary design in that it perfectly constrains
the rider in all six degrees of freedom through the use of a kinematic
coupling. I developed the concept, designed the form, and built the
prototype of the binding and boot connection. |
